On December 2 in 1971 saw the unification of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain into a single nation. The United Arab Emirates was completed the following year with the addition of Ras Al Khaimah, the seventh emirate. From homes and streets to people and cars, the colours of the national flag are everywhere you turn in the run up to UAE National Day. Shades of red, white, black and green represents every aspect of Emirati life, while flags flutter from atop landmarks across the nation. Being a public holiday, UAE National Day brings families and friends together in a day of celebration and happiness.
How 51st National Day in UAE was Celebrated
The official celebration of the 51st UAE National Day at Infome was a breathtaking visual delight that traced the history of the nation from its founding in 1971 to the present. In order to give viewers a peek of what the future would be like, the programme also looked ahead until 2071. The UAE National Anthem was performed by an Emirati choir, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Emirati musicians to kick off the official National Day programme. The late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who presided over the UAE from 2004 until 2022, was honoured during the ceremony. His great accomplishments and good contributions to a number of areas, such as the environment, sustainability, technology, economy, and education, were honoured in archival video. The traditional Al Ayyala weapon dance was performed to finish the occasion. Al Ayyala is a timeless custom that represents unity and harmony and the rich Emirati history. At the formal ceremony for the 51st UAE National Day, more than 200 performers took the stage.
